This Privacy Notice explains when and why we the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster (YCSC) collect personal information about people who visit our website. Whilst we will keep all of your personal information confidential, we reserve the right to disclose this information in the circumstances as set out within this Privacy Notice.
We confirm that we will keep the provided information on a secure server and that we will comply fully with all applicable UK Data Protection legislation and regulations including but not limited to the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) at all times.

Who are we?
The Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster is an initiative created as part of the UK Cyber Security Forum to help businesses and organisations across the region to collaborate and build a stronger standard of cyber security as part of a knowledge exchange collective.
The Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company.
How do we collect information from you?
We obtain information about you when you use our website, for example, when you contact us about services, if you directly give us any information via form or when you order any tickets to any of the YCSC events.
What type of information is collected from you?
In running and operating the business, we may collect and process certain data and information relating to you and your use of this site. Your privacy is important to us and we confirm that we
will never release your personal details to any third party for their mailing or marketing purposes. The data that we collect is detailed below:
- Identity Data includes first name, last name and title.
- Contact Data includes address, email addresses and telephone numbers
- Profile Data includes orders made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses.
- Details of visits to our website and the pages and resources that are accessed, including but not limited to, traffic data, location data and other communication data that may assist us in understanding how visitors use the website.
- Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
- Information that you provide us as a result of filling in forms on our website, such as registering for information, and our contact us form.

IP Addresses
We may collect information about your computer, including but not limited to (where available), your IP address, operating system and browser type for administration purposes and to produce internal reports. This is statistical data relating to a web user’s browsing actions and patterns and does not specifically identify you as an individual.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as it is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes but we may occasionally give a third party limited access to your contact information solely and specifically to obtain their assistance in organising YCSC events (in which case they will be under strict UK GDPR compliant obligations on the security and use of your data).
How Do I opt out?
You have a choice whether or not you wish to receive information from us. We will not make contact with you unless you have opted in. If then, you no longer want to be contacted by the YCSC, then you can change your preferences by emailing email@yscs.org and we will process your request within 7 days.
Your Rights
The accuracy of your information is important to us. If you change email address, or any of the other information we hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email email@yscs.org and we will process your request within 7 days.
Use of ‘cookies’
This website uses cookies to better the user’s experience while visiting the website. This website and its owners through their social media platform accounts may share web links to relevant web pages.
